Assigned task for Construction classes was to fix a broken table, or rather to search for a new way of fixing, to design connectors, both fixing and adding features- bringing something to the table (pun intended). Further defined as a search for connectors of two surfaces that could withstand weight and pressure of 40 kg.
The life cycle of product should not have to end when it is destroyed.
We got fascinated by a paper clip, its simplicity both in form and production, its mechanism easily connects paper but whether it could work at larger scale?
Set out to build our own paper clip we came to realization that extending its properties was enough to fix the table. We designed a series of objects that were build around basic paper clip to give it open design qualities, but we changed its properties to better fix the table , as well as add function.
Space on a table is often precious, so our objects are meant to be useful not only useful at restoring table but also to be used as a bowl, organizer, board and pen case
Modular system facilitates personalization and installation
The modules could also be assembled on side of a table adding additional features and space in less catastrophic circumstances
