SENTIMENTS
|
'Sentiments" are ceramic vessels based on a heart beat. They represent future in which machines, responsible for today's consumptionism are part of new solutions. Using new technologies, we produce objects that will let you feell heart rhythm of your beloved, and we hope that they will be valued.
Mobile apps let us record heart rhythm on ordinary mobile phones, which we further translate into a three dimensional objects - in which bumps represent each beat. Using Kuka robot, and developed by us pressure clay extruder, we produce ceramic objects. Our main aim was to use robot and produce objects with engraved emotional and sentimental value. "Sentiments" came from analysing pottery and special bond between potters and their clients, when each object is unique and handmade. Machines are called heartless, and so is called their work, we wanted to change that and literally insert heart into their work. Every single vessel is a print of a heart rhythm of special person, and moment caught in time Project “Sentiments” aims to use new technologies to develop unique objects, and move away from identical mass production. Each product can be individual and special -the qualities previously only connected with craft. That approach can help us develop products worth passing down, and keeping in families for generations.
